Windowpane Heart Cookies

My husband and I had a blast making and decorating these!
Not so sure that they are really "Kid safe" though, a little difficult to eat with the jolly rancher hard center but they turned out pretty and will be fun to share for Valentine's Day!
Cookie dough and jolly ranchers going into the oven...
Pretty heart cookies coming out!

Finished cookies.... Baked and decorated the centers of the big hearts so no wasted cookie dough!

Recipe found from one of my favorite blogs here!

Mail Holder

We are constantly getting mail... sometimes I wish it would stop! HAHA!
However since thats not going to happen I needed to find a place to store all the mail we receive atleast until the bills are due and our taxes are done.  So I took a 12x10 sheet of extra heavy chipboard (12x12 sheet cut down).  Scored it where I wanted the folds to be, decorated it with two sheets of decorative scrapbook sheets using modpodge.  I let it dry really well.  Put a hole in each corner where the ribbon would go.  Fed the ribbon through each hole with a knot tied on each side to prevent it from changing the width when I didn't want it to.  I know it's not exceptionally fancy but it works for the purpose I needed it to and doesn't look awful hanging in our kitchen!

Fondant

Homemade fondant! I found this recipe here! I had so much fun making my first batch and the hubs couldnt stop eating it throughout the week! These are the cookies I made... I was in the Valentine's Day mood!
This isnt the finished pics of course... battery in camera died before I could take a picture of the final cookies! Seems to be the way life goes!

For the sugar cookies I just used a Betty Crocker packaged mix!
